The board and staff of the Babcock Foundation have formally launched our search for our next CEO. We hope our grantee and philanthropic partners will take a look at our announcement and consider whether they know excellent folks who fit the bill.
This is an exciting time to join the Foundation. We are adding new employees to help us grow our impact across our 11-state Southern region. We are transitioning to an all-remote work environment, providing staff with resources to set up home offices or sign up for a coworking space. And we are beginning to implement strategic directions that have us focusing explicitly on racial equity and power building in everything we do.
We are seeking a leader who can shepherd the Foundation into this new chapter of our history, centering the wisdom of our grantee partners to guide our work. Our ideal CEO will take risks and go boldly where other foundations have not or will not. This person will share our vision and values, represent the Foundation in the broader philanthropic world, and make a powerful case for more sustained investment in the South.
For this important search and leadership transition process, MRBF is partnering with Strategies for Social Change, a woman of color-owned capacity building and leadership development practice dedicated to working with social justice organizations.
Please forward this email to brave, justice-minded leaders who love the South, or connectors who can help us spread the word. Referrals to potential candidates or other inquiries may be directed to ceosearch@mrbf.org.
