Ines Polonius: Supporting Generational Transition

Ines Polonius spearheaded the merger of Community Resource Group and alt.Consulting to form Communities Unlimited, which offers infrastructure services and economic entrepreneurial growth strategies in seven states.

As Executive Director of alt.Consulting, Polonius worked with hundreds of small businesses in manufacturing, distribution, service and retail. Among the services Polonius offers these business are organizational and financial audits, facilitated planning sessions and customized management systems. Polonius has developed numerous seminars on financial management and strategic planning.

Before founding alt.Consulting, Polonius was a Business Development Consultant at the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development, where she served more than 30 clients through an intensive management consulting process. Polonius earned an MBA and an MA in Economics from Boston University. Polonius received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, then worked for three years with rural micro-enterprise development projects in Chile and the Dominican Republic.

Polonius serves on the boards of the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship and the Regions Bank Community Development Corporation. She also serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Community Development Advisory Council.
