As Senior Managing Director of McIntosh SEED (Sustainable Environment and Economic Development), Cheryl Peterson provides technical assistance to organizations in youth leadership and development, community outreach and engagement, local and regional organizational development, and educational supervision and instruction. McIntosh SEED is a grassroots organization that fosters quality education, housing, recreational facilities, business opportunities and environmental protection for McIntosh County, Georgia, through community development, organizing and advocacy. Peterson managed the farmers market and gardening program. She also co-manages a Ford Foundation project building agricultural value chains in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.
Peterson is a member of the State Schools Superintendent’s Principals’ Advisory Council. She has been awarded the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement “Gold Award” and has served on several local, state and regional education committees. Peterson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education and her Masters of Science in Administration and Supervision from Georgia Southern University.
